Circumcision Revision

Most men that have been circumcised at birth have typically had their procedure done by using a clamp technique.  During a neonatal circumcision, the congenital foreskin adhesions are released and a clamp is applied to remove the foreskin.  This sometimes results in excess foreskin or an asymmetric foreskin that men may not find acceptable.  We are able to perform a circumcision revision with local anesthesia and nitrous oxide using the sleeve resection technique.  We can precisely make proximal and distal circumcising incisions and remove the intervening "sleeve" of skin.  The closure is then completed using fine absorbable sutures and plastic surgery technique.  This technique results in a clean and symmetric result.
